American self-defeating foreign policy in the Middle East misfires like many other US policies in the past.
Our favorite goon – Hosni Mubarak runs the country down for our tax payer’s money.
President Zine AL-Abedine Ben Ali of Tunisia has been already kicked out by the people for the same reason people of Egypt want to get rid of their tyrant – Hosni Mubarak.
Thousands of Egyptian took to the streets of Cairo and Alexandria demanding to end 30 years old dictatorship who ruled for such a long time for our, American money we send him every year.
Mubarak’s police shot, killed and wounded many protesters, and call it as you want, but there is revolution in the Middle East. Egyptians want to be free of this America/Israeli supporter, leaving Israel practically without any friends in the neighboring countries.
Israel is quick to learn a lesson, it is already considering “One State” solution and the only problem they have that sooner or later there will be more Palestinians in the government than Jews.
US. is losing the battle for regional hegemony between the US. and Iran. Arabs do not need the western democracy, they have their own system and if need be they can and shall create their own democratic system tailor made for their needs and their culture.
Pro-Iran forces have achieved major gains in Iraq and Muqtada AL-Sadr after an extended stay in Iran recently returned to a hero’s welcome.
The Middle East is tired of the bully. It wants peace, stability, cooperation on every level with neighbors and ‘Yankee go home and take your cronies with you” is the word in the streets.
The question is if we, the United States deserve it.
I think we do. We are bullying everybody for decades, we start wars we can not finish or win, we make claims to democracy, equality and freedom but in practice we have no idea what are we talking about.
We also have a claim that we single-handed won WWII and this is an obvious lie. Yes, we have given enormous input into the victory, but without Soviet Union we would be speaking German today.
We believe that our votes for presidency count but it is the Electoral College that decides whom do we get for a president. The election for President and Vice President is not a direct election by the citizens. Since 1964, there have been 538 electors in each presidential election. They decide and not us, the tax-payers.
That is how we got George W. Bush and his idiotic rule for 8 years that almost ruined this country. That and the Florida Supreme Court which obviously was playing politics to benefit itself and those who support it.
Can we change?
I hardly think so. The evangelical Baptist wing hates with all their little hearts Obama and will continue to be the party of “NO!”. (Is it because he is African-American?).
Racism is deeply imbedded in the above mentioned group as also in the other groups including blacks.
We have to hate somebody, otherwise we would not be Americans.
As for Egypt? Only time will tell for sure.
